1. Who we are

bookofmypet.com is a service of Solid Software B.V., Rümkelaan 32, 3571 XW Utrecht, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 94194432, VAT number NL866673520B01. You reach us at support@solid-soft.nl; we reply within five working days at the latest.

Solid Software B.V. is also the manufacturer of the hardcover within the meaning of the EU General Product Safety Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2023/988): we have the book printed and market it under our own name. The order number identifies the book.

2. What these terms cover

These terms apply to every order on bookofmypet.com. By ordering you accept them. You can save or print this page.

3. What you buy

The digital book: a 28-page book about your pet, made from the name, the photos and the answers you give. You read it at a private link and can download it as a PDF. You can also make a share link: anyone who has it reads the book without being able to change it; you can stop that link at any time. The book stays available for a year after it is ready, and another year each time you keep it; then we delete it together with the photos. Download the PDF within that time. The digital book is digital content within the meaning of consumer law.

The hardcover, if you add it: a printed copy of the book as it stands when you order, 20 by 20 cm, 28 pages, hard cover, shipped to the address you give at checkout. The hardcover is a good made to your specifications.

4. How your order is formed

You type your pet's name and choose one photo. You pay for the digital book through Stripe by card. The contract is formed as soon as your payment is confirmed; Stripe sends you a payment receipt with the order number, and we e-mail you the private link to the book.

You then answer seven short questions, add photos and answer one question per photo. You may skip any question. Once you press the button to make the book, it is ready after about ten minutes. You read it, change what you like and can order the hardcover; that is a second payment through Stripe.

The order is placed in English. We do not store the contract in a place you can reach later; keep the payment receipt, the e-mail with the link and this page.

5. Price and payment

The digital book costs €6.99. The hardcover costs €34.99 including shipping; the €6.99 you paid for the digital book is taken off at checkout, so you pay €28.00. All prices include VAT. A discount code applies to the digital book only.

Payment runs through Stripe; we do not receive your payment details.

6. How the book is made

The words are drafted by an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) from your answers, under a fixed brief: nothing invented, no clichés. The drawings are made by an AI image model (Cloudflare Workers AI) from the photo you chose. We do not read along.

You read the book and can change every page: edit the words, have a page rewritten with a note, swap a photo, have a drawing made again. You are responsible for what the book says at the moment you order the hardcover.

If making the book fails for a technical reason, we try again. If the book is not ready 48 hours after you asked for it to be made, we refund the full amount at your request.

7. Right of withdrawal

The digital book. When ordering, you expressly ask us to start making the book at once and declare that you thereby waive your right of withdrawal (article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU, article 6:230p sub g of the Dutch Civil Code). We confirm this in the e-mail with the link to your book. From that moment you can no longer withdraw from the order. This is also stated at the order button.

The hardcover. The book is printed for you alone, with your photos and your words. For such goods made to your specifications the statutory right of withdrawal does not apply (article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU, article 6:230p sub f of the Dutch Civil Code). You therefore cannot cancel the hardcover after payment. This too is stated at the order button.

If a right of withdrawal does apply in your case, use the form at bookofmypet.com/withdraw or write to support@solid-soft.nl.

8. Printing and delivery of the hardcover

The hardcover is printed by our print partner Gelato through a printer in or near the country of delivery and sent to you by post or parcel service. You receive an e-mail with the tracking link as soon as the book ships. Delivery usually takes about two weeks from your order and in any case no more than thirty days.

We deliver the hardcover in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France. The price includes shipping.

Check the delivery address carefully before you pay. A book sent to an address you entered wrongly cannot be recalled or refunded.

9. Something wrong? Repair, reprint or refund

The digital book must be what you may expect. If the words do not match your answers, you change them yourself or have a page rewritten. If the book or the PDF does not work technically, write to support@solid-soft.nl; we fix it or refund the full amount.

If the hardcover does not arrive, or arrives damaged or misprinted, write to support@solid-soft.nl with your order number and a photo. We send a new copy free of charge or refund the full amount, whichever you prefer. Report a defect as soon as possible after you notice it; within two months is always in time. You get a reply within five working days at the latest.

Colours on paper can differ slightly from your screen; that is inherent to printing and not a defect. Your statutory rights as a consumer always remain.

10. Your photos and words

You decide what goes into the book and you vouch for it: you have the right to use the photos and the words, people who are recognisable in them do not object, and the content is not unlawful.

Photos that are illegal, that sexualise a minor, or that show people without their agreement may not be uploaded. Every photo is checked automatically; a photo that does not pass is refused. We may refuse to make or print a book that breaches this article; you then get back what you paid for that book.

You allow us to process, print and ship the photos and the words, solely for your book.

11. How long the book is kept

The book, the photos, the drawings and the PDF are kept for a year after the book is ready. A month and a week before the end we send an e-mail with a link that keeps the book another year; that can be repeated. If you order the hardcover, the book is kept for a year from that order. A book that was started but not paid for is deleted after one day.

12. Liability

Our liability per order is limited to the amount of that order. We are not liable for indirect loss, such as consequential loss or a missed occasion. These limits do not apply to our intent or deliberate recklessness, and they never limit the rights the law gives you as a consumer.

13. Force majeure

In case of force majeure, such as an outage at the printer, at an AI provider or in the postal service, we may postpone performance. If it lasts longer than fourteen days, you may cancel the order free of charge and we refund what you paid for the part not yet delivered.

14. Changes

We may change these terms. The version on this page at the time of your order applies to that order; the version date is at the top.

15. Applicable law and disputes

Dutch law applies to every order, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live. If we cannot settle a dispute together, you may bring it before the competent court, as a consumer also the court of your own place of residence. If we reject a complaint, we tell you at the same time whether we are willing to take part in out-of-court dispute resolution.
